A colourful walkway leads to the Shrine of Remembrance

Visit the Ribbon of Reflection

Step into a vibrant tribute to service and sacrifice

Honouring the Shrine’s 90th anniversary, this installation draws inspiration from the vibrant colours of Australian military medal ribbons. Throughout summer, visitors can walk along this pathway, and reflect on the stories of bravery, sacrifice, and service represented. Each ribbon and its distinct hues symbolise the courage and dedication of those who have served our nation.

Located in the Gallipoli Memorial Garden off Birdwood Avenue, the walkway leads to the Shrine of Remembrance Visitor Centre entrance. Enter to visit the Gallery of Medals and see an interpretive timeline of military medals awarded to Australians.

The Ribbon of Reflection is on display until 31 January 2025.

You can also find the Ribbon of Reflection artwork on the Shrine of Remembrance tram shelters on St Kilda Road, or catch the Ribbon of Reflection tram on Routes 5, 6, 16 and 72 (Tram #3504).
