Melbourne Legacy's 92nd Annual ANZAC Commemoration for Students

A special service for school children in the lead up to Anzac Day.

Join other Secondary and Primary school students from around Victoria in keeping the Anzac spirit alive by commemorating Anzac Day and the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who have served our country.

Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria will be in attendance to address the students and the ceremony will include Defence Force Cadets, school band & choir and a RAAF fly-over.

  • Students are encouraged to honour deceased relatives by wearing medals on their right-hand side
  • A program handed out on the day will outline the order of service
  • Two students from each school are invited to lay a floral tribute from their school during the ceremony (if bringing students from more than one year level then additional floral tributes can be laid (max two per year level)
  • Bus parking is available on Birdwood Avenue
  • Please provide water containers, hats, sunscreen and/or wet weather gear.

After this special Legacy service teachers and their students are invited inside the Shrine of Remembrance to view the Shrine Crypt and Galleries of Remembrance or lay a poppy at the Stone of Remembrance in the Sanctuary. Volunteers and staff will be positioned throughout the Shrine to engage with and answer students' questions.
