Join us for an extraordinary afternoon of music on the eve of the Shrine’s 90th anniversary. This unique concert will transport you back to the Dedication of the Shrine of Remembrance in 1934, blending the past and present in a powerful tribute to Victoria’s iconic memorial, and our service-people.

Featuring the exceptional talents of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus, led by MSO Chorus Director Warren Trevelyan-Jones and Royal Australian Navy Band Melbourne, led by Lieutenant Commander Brian O’Kane, you’ll experience the same evocative music performed at the Shrine’s Dedication alongside other moving commemorative pieces.

After the concert, stay for our powerful Last Post Service and pay tribute to the countless Australians who have served and sacrificed for our nation. As part of this special service, descendants of the Shrine’s original architects will be present to lay wreaths in honour of their forebears’ vision and the lasting legacy of their design.

This family-friendly event is a rare opportunity to connect with history, culture and community in the heart of Melbourne.
