Employment at the Shrine

The Shrine of Remembrance is Victoria's principal war memorial attracting in excess of 500,000 visits annually. The Shrine, managed by a Board of Trustees, is responsible for the preservation and care of the Shrine.

The Shrine has in place an Education Program linked to the primary, secondary and VCE curriculum. Over 40,000 school children visit the Shrine each year as part of a school excursion.

The Shrine's Exhibitions and Collections team produce an annual exhibition program which rotates temporary exhibitions for three to six months in either of two temporary exhibitions spaces.

Current vacancies:

  • Assistant Curator - Full Time (job share will also be considered) - Circa $56K pa. (plus 9% super). Close date for applications 5pm, 18 September 2010.
  • Visitor Services Custodian - Casual - $20.09 per hour. Close date for applications 12 noon, 20 September 2010.
  • Visitor Services Administration Officer (Reception & Retail) - Casual - $20.09 per hour. Close date for applications 12 noon, 20 September 2010.

Shrine staff work as part of a team, and together with volunteers deliver a range of programs and services to the general public, veterans, tourists and other groups and organisations.
