Remembrance Day Poster Competition 2016
11 November 2016 - 26 February 2017

Each year the Shrine of Remembrance invites Victorian Primary School students to demonstrate their creativity by taking part in the annual Remembrance Day Poster Competition.

The theme for 2016 was: Symbols of Remembrance. The winning entry will become the official Remembrance Day poster and will be used by the Shrine to promote the 2017 Victorian Remembrance Day Service on banners, posters and flyers around the City of Melbourne.

The winner of 2016 is 'A Friend’s Journey' by Claudia Cover, Grade 6 Holy Rosary Primary School, Kensington.

Artist statement: "Beneath the journey of two best friends who experience the torment of war—with only one returning home—lies a bright and colourful red field of symbolic poppies, with reflective icons of their shared experiences together."

The Shrine Trustees wish to thank the Department of Veterans’ Affairs for their support of the Remembrance Day Poster Competition and all the Victorian Primary Schools and students who participated.
